Frequently asked questions
How many calories does alcohol have and how is it metabolized?
Alcohol is very high in calories. For instance, two glasses of beer or three glasses of red wine contain the same amount of calories as three rows of a bar of chocolate (around 250 kcal). Alcohol cannot be stored in the body, so it is metabolized before fats are. This means that the breakdown of fat is delayed and fats are shifted immediately to fat storage areas, i.e. generally around the hips or on the abdomen. You can find more information here.
